GTCT (general terms and conditions of trade)

Amadeus designs custom-made itineraries upon request, according to the clients’ preferences, interests, budget, ages, month of the year, length of stay and available accommodations. Once the final itinerary, is approved by the client, Amadeus will make the corresponding reservations for the included providers such as hotels, transportation companies etc. Amadeus will try to maintain the original itinerary, but please note that due to space availability, itineraries may need to be modified, especially during the peak-season month December/January and the Easter week.


  • We strongly recommend reservations to be made at least six months in advance in order to guarantee your original itinerary.

Amadeus S.A. acts only as agent for passengers with regard to travel, either by car, motor coach, boat or plane, and it assumes no liability during such travel for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may occur either by reason or defect in any vehicle or for any reason whatsoever, or through the acts of default or any company or person engaged in covering the passenger or in carrying out the arrangement of the tour. Amadeus S.A. cannot be held responsible for injury, loss, damage to person or property or for additional expenses due to illness, act of god, weather, strike, detention, riot, war, quarantine, thefts, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, government restrictions or regulations, discrepancies or change, or additional expenses due to delay, hotel or airline irregularities, or any other cause. Please check the valid entry requirements (Visa / Passports / Vaccinations etc.) for all countries visited on your trip before departure well in advance with your embassy. All services provided by other individuals or companies, e.g. free-lance guides, transportation and car rental companies, subcontracted tour operators etc., are due to the individual insurance conditions of each company or individual. Some of the activities involved in our programs are inappropriate for persons with severe health problems or physical disabilities, which inhibit walking or other activities. It is the passenger’s responsibility to judge the appropriateness of these travel activities in regard to his/her physical capabilities. Every passenger must check the level of difficulty rating. Amadeus requires that all participants be covered by appropriated life, accident and medical insurance. We recommend that passengers insure their personal property against loss and theft.

Usually, a deposit of US $200 per passenger must be paid in order to confirm your itinerary upon reservation. Certain hotels, lodges and packages may require additional deposits, which will be advised by Amadeus upon reservation. The balance of the payment is due minimum 30 days before arrival. Deposits can be made either by check or wire transfer to our US $ or EURO bank accounts in Costa Rica or by credit card via Pay Pal ( In the case final payment is made by personal check or traveller’s check the due date will be 60 days prior to arrival.

We understand the disappointment of having to cancel a vacation that the traveller has been looking forward to for a long time. However, Amadeus needs to plan for these adventures as well for during a long period prior to arrival and must deposit partially non-refundable payments to hotels and other suppliers. Therefore, we must strictly adhere to our refund policies: Cancellations must be received in written form within a minimum of 30 days prior to arrival. In such cases, your deposit will be refunded, less a handling charge of US $ 50 per passenger and any other non-refundable deposit guarantees to hotels and other service providers. If a reservation is cancelled after depositing the balance of payment, that portion is refundable according to the following conditions:
